Local reports show that the red car owner parked the car in the southern Chinese city of Sanming and connected it to the charging station. It seems that what was left of the vehicle after the explosion looked like a BAIC EX360.
Smoke was reportedly coming out of the car shortly after it was connected to the mains. The owner quickly called the fire department, which promptly arrived at the scene to extinguish the fire.
A video taken by someone in a nearby high-rise tower shows firefighters trying to put out the flames when a car explodes, shooting at body panels in all directions.
