Bentley Motors has announced plans to become the global leader in luxury electric vehicles as part of its new Beyond100 development strategy, reported by the company's press service.
The main goal of Bentley's new program is to become a carbon-neutral company. A key milestone will be the transition of the lineup to purely hybrid or battery electric vehicles by 2026 and fully electric cars by 2030.
"Since 1919, Bentley began its journey of the most luxurious cars. Being the first is part of our DNA. The story begins with the legendary Bentley Boys, who were absolute pioneers and leaders. Now, with the Beyond100 program, we will continue our leadership, rethinking the company and becoming the global benchmark for the luxury car business," says Bentley.
By 2023, there will be a hybrid version in every model line, and Bentley will launch the first all-electric model in 2025. The first example of the upcoming changes was the EXP 100 GT concept car presented by the manufacturer last year.
Bently created EXP 100 GT using environmentally friendly materials - wood, copper, and textiles that repeated the texture of leather and produced from recycled wine products.
At the same time, Bentley is also committed to maintaining its handcrafted processes for the next 100 years while preparing for the digital future. The company is actively investing in two new R&D centers, an automobile test center, and a dedicated launch quality center.
