Ford has unveiled the most powerful and fastest modification of the Mustang Mach-E GT electric crossover, called the Performance Edition. The novelty was equipped with an upgraded engine, thanks to which its dynamics became close to gasoline supercars' characteristics.
The company equipped the Ford Mustang Mach-E GT Performance Edition with an electric motor that develops the same 480 hp as the standard GT version. Still, the maximum torque increased from 814 Nm to 860 Newton-meters. This improvement allows the crossover to accelerate to 60 mph (96 km / h) in 3.5 seconds, which is 0.2 seconds faster than GT modifications. For comparison, the new-generation Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 supercar reaches 60 mph in 3.3 seconds.
Simultaneously, a more efficient engine affected the crossover range - an 88 kWh battery allows you to drive up to 230 miles (375 km) without recharging instead of 250 miles (400 km) for the usual GT-version of the model.
The Performance Edition crossover features 20-inch alloy wheels, Brembo brakes with red calipers, sports seats in the cabin, and aluminum inserts on the dashboard.
Orders for the Ford Mustang Mach-E GT Performance Edition will begin accepting in the spring of 2021, with deliveries slated to begin next summer. Ford has not announced prices for the new product yet. For example, a standard Ford Mustang Mach-E GT costs from $ 60.5 thousand.
