Nissan has unveiled the updated Kicks compact crossover for the North American market. The car received a slightly changed appearance, as well as richer basic equipment.
Outwardly, the crossover practically does not differ from the restyled model for Southeast Asia, presented six months earlier. The main design changes are the double V-motion grille, narrower LED front optics and a more pronounced front bumper.
The Nissan Kicks' standard equipment includes an infotainment complex with a seven-inch touchscreen display, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto, and an eight-inch screen is available as an option. For the first time, USB-connectors of the Type-C standard appeared in the cabin. For an additional fee, the crossover can be equipped, for example, with rear disc brakes and adaptive cruise control.
As before, the Nissan Kicks will be available in the US with a 1.6-liter naturally aspirated gasoline engine developing 124 hp and 155 Nm of torque. The engine works in conjunction with an Xtronic Variator, which transfers power to the front wheels.
In some countries, Nissan offers a new 1.33-liter turbo engine jointly developed with Daimler. For example, on the updated Nissan Kicks for India, this unit produces 156hp and 254 Nm of torque. The engine works with a six-speed manual transmission or with a Variator.
